ana sofi - 7 months...

Little Ana Sofi has graced the blog many times in her young little life! (HERE - HERE - and HERE!) She just so happens to be some of our best friends little one. I can't believe that she's already 7 months old! It's just crazy that she's growing up so fast! This little girl has had my heart from the start...

Althought she has a beautiful smile, she has the most intense look when she's trying to figure out what you're doing...Those eyes are incredible huh??
She's the most beautiful little thing...Those bottom teeth kill me...

We will do all sorts of weird things to entrance a baby...
And finally...Ana Sofi hanging out with our baby Scout :) It just steals my heart EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Gah! I love them!

we are all a little weird...

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love...

Poor guy puts up with alot of weird...that's why we work...

despite the pollen...

We are so glad that spring is here... This winter felt like it lasted forever...
Two months from now, I will no doubt be dying for a wintery day, but for now, I'm enjoying the windows open, breeze blowing the curtains days...

"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold:  when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade."

Check and Mark! #74 - See a Comedian LIVE!

Our amazing friends, Don and Julie, surprised us with tickets to see Brian Regan here in Augusta last weekend and an extra amazing date night! They said they wanted to help me complete my 101 in 1001 list but checking this one of for me! It was awesome! The four of us laughed until we cried... He is one of the few comedians out there that doesn't use offensive language to sell his humor. If you've never heard of him (Which I doubt), here's a clip of one of his best known routines...

Thank you so much Pinks! We are so happy to have friends like you!

let's craft talk!

Last night, being snowed in and all, I put on my figurative "gold pants" and got crafty! I decided to make a pillow with some extra materials I had lying around - and boy, was it a blast! Just ask Daryl! After cursing  yelling at my sewing machine (because of its lack of do-it-yourself initiative!), I finally got to working on my latest creation! (drum roll please...)

Don't you just love those little rosettes? I love them! Favorite craft project this year! ;)
And just for your enjoyment and to remind you of the wonders of getting crafty:

snow day 2011!

We are beyond excited for a snow day here in Georgia! It's crazy how excited we get over a few inches of snow (mostly ice!)! But we are so excited none the less! Sorry for the lack of posting here over the last month - it's been busy busy around here! We are in the process of updating our site and revamping our packaging. We are thankfully using this snow day for good things today - hot chocolate, snuggles, and blogging! :) And because a post is always better with a picture - here is my baby enjoying the snow (from last year, but still!)

vacation 2010

This year we all rounded up to around Asheville, NC for some family fun in the mountains!
We rented a cabin - where we crocheted, read, hiked, crossword puzzled and built fires to our hearts content!
It was just lovely!

We obviously are a picture taking bunch...Say cheese!

We went waterfall scouting and after hiking for 2 miles (for the second year in a row), we realized that it was a ROCK fall. Where, literally, rocks had fallen from the cliffside. Not finding waterfalls has hysterically become a Reid family tradition! But to make up for it, we stopped at a roadside lookout for this beautiful waterfall....it made up for it.. :)

Grandma did crossword puzzles almost the entire time we were there - stayed up wayyyy past her bedtime looking for those pesky words...

You may remember Grandma's sledding adventures here! Isn't she just the cutest thing?

I still believe that one of the best parts of being married is inheriting the family :).

current obsessions 1.0

1. Creature Comforts blog - I'm absolutely enamored with this blog. It's like HGTV meets DIY meets Vogue. All my favorites things in one place. If you're not a reader - get to it!

2. Anthology Magazine - Have you seen this yet? If you loved now defunked Domino magazine as much as I did, you'll love this new magazine! And if you have the love affair that I do with stop motion video, you'll love their "Print is Not Dead" campaign.

Print Is Not Dead from Anthology Magazine on Vimeo.

3. Fark.com - If you like the news, and like to laugh. This one's for you.

4. Etsy.com - My obsession with Etsy has been a long one. If you're searching for that perfect handmade item or art piece, this is THE ONLY place to go. It's amazing...incredible...AWESOME... Some of my favorite sellers include (but are not limited to): Vol. 25, Sleepy King and Mary Kate McDevitt's shop!

5. Rabbit! - I love them. I can't help myself. Hear for yourself.

Happy Little Pea from The Panic Room Videos on Vimeo.

6. Oh Joy! blog - If you like to see beautiful photography, sweet vintage pieces, and lovely home goods - you'll add this one to your reader. It's one of Anthology Magazine launchpads!

7. Camelbak - Okay people - this water bottle has singlehandedly brought me back to loving drinking water. I don't know what's so different about it besides its super cute, but I really like that it doesn't spill in my bag. I love that part best.

8. Pumpkin Spice Latte - the light of my Autumn life. I live for these. My wallet on the other hand is very angry with me! :)

9. Leggings - If you know me, you know that leggings are part of my everyday wardrobe in the winter. I sleep in them, where them under skirts and jeans. I pretty much own them in every color and in every brand. It's pitiful how much I can't wait for the winter...

10. Young House Love - This couple inspires me to DIY everything. It makes me want to redo everything in our house every other time I read this...humm...

So - I hope that lets you into some of the crazy obsessions of the H in the H+D :)...because we know you were DYING TO KNOW THESE THINGS :)! Even if you weren't, hopefully you've got some cool things to look into! :)

If you know Daryl, you know he is kinda obsessed with space travel. After watching this video, he may or may not have tried to build one of these. :)

#25 and #73! Check and Check!

So if you follow our blog, you know that I am working to complete my 101 in 1001 list!  Well - this weekend, I checked off two of those things! First, #73 - To make Jelly from something that I picked myself!  Daryl's mom, Sharon, and I went Friday to pick some fresh plums for the yummy jelly that she makes! She's pretty amazing at this kinda stuff so I knew she would be the one to show me the ropes! And here is how it went!

These trees were dripping with beautiful yellow plums! Doesn't it look like an orange tree!?

We cut the plums up and cooked them up according to the recipe...

and then....the cutest JELLY you will see today! :)

We also picked blueberries! (Number #25 on the list!) They were huge and beautiful!

And this is what Scout looks like when she is begging for blueberries. It's pitiful huh?
