i have recently become OBSESSED with the idea of home. with the putting together and designing and rearranging. i can't hardly help myself. i look at design blogs probably 50% more than i look at other photographers! i'm just so inspired to create when i see these beautifully crafted -well - homes. places where people live and love and create together. i just can't hardly stand it i love it so much. so i decided i would post a weekly roundup of home designs that inspire me. i'm gonna call it these {home} posts.

i am love love loving this chalkboard paint stencil over the stove. isn't that just too cute?

we are already working in something like this airplane style over our couch. But it has a ways to go...

simple understated bath and living room...its just so pretty to me...

i tried to build a terrarium but it didn't work out so good... i think its because it is so humid inside that inside the terrarium its just WAY too much for the little plants...

i believe that i need this bed. seriously....i want it.

i love this sink so much i can't stand it.

last saturday we shot jessica's senior pictures...she just graduated from greenbriar high school here in augusta (martinez to be exact) - but she's actually an atlanta girl at heart. thankfully - she was up for whatever we would throw at her and let us try out some fun locations! congrats jessica on starting your college career! see you at the next dmb concert! (isn't the new cd awesome!?)

{shes all grown up....}

we can't believe how big scout has gotten...she's 14 weeks old! we couldn't be more happy that we adopted such a lovely baby girl...

for those of you who don't know - my not so little sister's boyfriend, Jordan, is in a band. yes this guy. you might remember him from here...

a face rocking band. a face rocking band called "My Instant Lunch". we've seen these guys in concert here in augusta's SKY CITY a couple of times now and every time they've been awesome with their space tunes! although they are an unsigned band - their first EP just hit itunes earlier this month! in an effort to get the word out about these rocker geniuses - you can buy their album on itunes - check them out on myspace, facebook, and if you're a twitter fan-actic you can also follow them there! on their main myspace page you can listen to thier music to get a sample before BUYING THEIR ALBUM...c'mon give 'em some love! and plus! its cheap! :) you can't beat good music + cheap!

the ever cute lauren + wade took time out of thier busy schedules to pose for a few photographs to mark thier first blissful year of marriage :) we only had moments to spare for this shoot but we think we got some sweet shots...

{guy + mellie}

it all started with this little ring...

guy decided he would surprise mellie wren with his proposal last weekend while we were all in Chattanooga under the ruse of his brother, wade's (with his beautiful wife lauren) first year anniversary...

she was really surprised to say the least but right after he popped the question we had planned to have an impromptu engagement session to mark the occasion! here are a few of our favorites from the beautiful afternoon...

















we couldn't resist this beautiful shot of mellie wren alone...she just looks so content...





as you can see in this photo...mellie was given two engagement rings...the first was an origami paper ring that guy had made many years ago and the other was the actual ring...he gave her the paper one first because he had told her he would have to give her a ring from a cracker jack box because he couldn't afford to get her a real one...but what was hilarious was that she loved it! she was so excited and didn't even realize that it was a joke! he then gave her the real engagement ring (which was beautiful as seen in the first photo!) but she insisted on wearing both :)...how cute is she!

this creepy guy has a suprise engagement session + an anniversary session just on the horizon...

{i really love...}

i really love...several things...so be patient...

1. printmaking. i have a fierce weakness for prints big and small. if it were up to me i would cover my home in them and tuck them away in little frames on my bookcases to look at over and over again...but until i get rich. i'll just look and wish i could have them all...haha...

one artist that i love love love...is Matte Stephens. His shop over on etsy is super cute. he has a fun way about his prints and i love all the shapes and colors that he uses in his somewhat weird art. but hey! thats why i like him!





i also am in mega like with the artists over at the Keep Calm Gallery. these printers are all part of a collective group who sells their work. each piece is from a different artist but its a great way to see many different works all in one place. i wish i could have all of these prints!

dazey chic at studio mela on etsy is fantastic. i just love her whimsy style of printmaking and the tiny little prints you can get through her shop. shes really got cute style...

2. DIY projects. i know i know. its a problem when you walk into a store and refuse to buy something because you are certain that you can make it yourself. its true. i can't even tell you how many times i have thought "i bet i could make that..."

DIY Soaps...i haven't tried this yet - but i'm itching to try it so i'll share it with you.

3. organizing. i do so love a good list. the sweet smell of paper notes and the sound of a scribbling of a pencil...ahh...the good life...if you too are the note taking doodling type or the overly organized crazy person - not unlike myself - try these sites on for size...

this funky little website offers the best of list making and organizing! for instance - isn't this so funny? well..at least a little bit? :)

i am huge fan of the blog Unclutter. its a great little place to see fun tips and tricks to organizing and getting your life - well - uncluttered!
