So for the first time in almost 2 decades - there was, not just flurries, but HALF A FOOT OF SNOW in our front yard! AHH! I can't even explain the levels of excitement at our house! When it started snowing, we were falling all over ourselves to get home to see how Scout would react. (I really don't mean to sound like some crazy-dog mother or something, but I do have a fondness in my soul for my girl - despite her fuzzy, sheding features.) So - back to the point. We were excited and spent the better part of the evening playing fetch with snowballs that disappear when they hit the ground - which by the way is hilarious to watch your dog search and search for that ball. Priceless really. Go ahead and prepare yourself for lots of pictures of her. (And for some reason - I just think snow in black and white is so beautiful...I can't stop!)
This is classic Scout. :)
But really - the snow here was beautiful. See for yourself.
On Saturday morning, we met Daryl's parents, his sister Heather,
80-something year old Grandma and some good friends of ours with little kids for a sledding bonaza!
We had an absolute BLAST!
This is Casey...don't you just wanna eat her up!?
And here is Quinn...(above with his beautiful mom Tammy)
and this...this...is Daryl and Heather with his casted arm from his surgery!
We had to wrap it in plastic wrap so it wouldn't get wet in the snow.
But doesn't it kinda look like a hoagie? :) It makes me laugh every time I see it!
And introducing Grandma Margie Reid to the blog...
She was having so much fun! Doesn't she look so happy! We just love her...
Towards the end of the excursion, Davy and Daryl decided to build a ramp of snow to see how much "air" they could get. Pretty much all the adults missed the ramp the first two or three times they tried, but the kids hit it every time! Here is Daryl's successful run...
and did I mention that I LOVE SNOW...
and finally...I like to call this piece - watch Davy bite it.
All the snow is now melted and it's raining - AGAIN. But it was fun while it lasted!
